This rebrand was created in partnership with Diandra Thompson for the Canadian Culinary Federation's Ottawa chapter.
CF Ottawa is an employment, news, and education resource for chefs and those working in the culinary industry in Ottawa. Their goal was to mobilize their slightly aging membership base while attracting younger members, primarily by updating and rebranding their website.
They also wanted to tie their branding to the national Canadian Culinary Federation, making it crystal clear that they were a chapter of a larger organization.
Working from the personas we created for our target audience, as well as what we learned in our research and initial client meeting, we created 2 different concepts for the logo and branding for them to choose from: one that was light, airy, and approachable, and one that was darker, moodier, and might appeal to the younger, ‘rock star chef’ crowd that the client had expressed they were looking to attract.
Once the client made their decision, we reskinned the website wireframes to fit their chosen look, coded the site, and developed a brand book that would help the client stick to the brand guidelines as they moved forward independently and started developing their own products.
